Organisations receiving a RoSPA Award are recognised as being world-leaders in health and safety practice. Every year, 2,000 entrants vie to achieve the highest possible accolade in what is the UK’s longest-running health and safety industry awards.
Crown House Technologies Business Unit Leader Martin Staehr said: “Achieving Gold accreditation is testament to the hard work of the entire team, and I would like to thank everyone involved. As part of the wider Laing O’Rourke Group, we have recently transformed our approach to health and safety, placing more emphasis on psychological safety and the importance of wellbeing and inclusion. We did this after seeing that safety stats within the industry had plateaued and in the aftermath of covid, work habits had changed with more focus on wellbeing required.
“Through the launch of our new ‘Rethinking Safety through Inclusion + Wellbeing’ programme we are empowering our people, at every level of the organisation with the skills that the modern workplace demands. It is early days but by focussing on engineering out risk and engineering in health before a project even begins is crucial. Next, we need to deliver excellence by ensuring that there is strong safety leadership from the top and our management teams are utilising people’s strengths, skills, knowledge and tracking their performance. To aid with this we have invested in advanced concepts around holistic wellbeing. This will provide our colleagues with the supportive and psychologically enriching work environment that allows them to perform consistently at their best.”
